About OWN Integration
Health Education 101: You will remain with what you know, until you learn more. In other words, you continue knowing what you know, until you learn, and therefore know, more.
Confused? Of course you are!
With something as complex as the human body, the understanding we seek does not just simply appear. It is an ongoing investigation that can get quite tricky at times, we always seem to be a step behind. There are too many answers to rely solely on one, how do you know which is best?
All too often we are presented with what doesn’t work, and what hasn’t worked, it’s a familiar story. Conversely, we are lead to believe everything can be cured. When it comes to health, the bottom line remains: there’s not just one simple solution for everyone. We end up having to try a number of different paths before we find the one that is specific to our needs.
Naturally we find ourselves riddled with questions. For example, what is Osteopathy? And what’s the difference between Naturopathy and Homeopathy? When would I see a Kinesiologist? Will I still need my doctor? What are other people doing? What about coverage? Do I have to pay? Will it help??
With so much to learn, you will need to take the time to decide what you are actually looking for. What do you need? Once you figure out what it is you want, you can then move in that direction. Regardless of health “politics”, there are plenty of people working hard to be genuinely there for you. Professional health care practitioners have a very specific purpose: They aim to restore the natural ability of your body to heal itself. They want you to feel whole again.
The ideal situation for this to happen is in an environment where you are
encouraged to explore, where you are completely supported and empowered to make the decisions necessary for you. If the view point of one professional provides an answer, and yet you still do not feel as if you have enough information, just keep asking questions. Make sure you have a team of people that are each able to contribute something beneficial, and of worth to you.
If something has become stuck in your life and needs shifting, it requires your attention now. Symptoms are designed for this purpose, the normal function of the body has become obstructed, and the symptoms tell you so. Exactly how you go about attempting to heal these restrictions, is up to you. If you have become unsure of what, why or how it has all happened, then you will need to first place yourself in a position that allows for the journey towards your ultimate goal to begin. It only makes sense that the treatment be based on the specifics of what you have decided you want for yourself, and what your body needs.
Health practitioners often hold up mirrors, so tell them what you see. Put everything on the table and explore the available options together. You want to equip yourself with more than just knowledge, you want the ability to take the actual step towards what it is you need. Knowledge is simply the platform from which you take it. Position yourself appropriately, so you are able to receive support from people you trust.
After all, we’re all in this together.
